First Trip To The River Taff

Well im gona start this one off with a big middle finger to the great welsh weather.
It was a nice week leading up to sunday and tipically the weather done a patchy on us. but never mind being the devoted fisherman we are we still got into the freezing cold River Taff. We got in the river just a few hundred yards down from Radyr train station and worked our way up the river trying diffrent methonds and flies and basically everything we had to throw at the little fish but we had nothing to the net. Had a couple of offers but that was it. We worked our way up to Radyr weir and we ended up scratching our heads  wondering wot to do next.
So we walked all the way down to where we got into the river had a bite to eat and started all over again. After all wot we did through the day Dai was finally rewarded with a grayling and he was chuffed to bits as was I as this was his first ever grayling. So I dug a similar fly out of my box and give it a swim and then after a few cast I was also then rewarded with my first ever grayling. We managed to catch a few more after that,BUT then the weather really bit hard and broke the pair of us and we had to get out of the rive but at this point we didn't care as we had achieved wot we set out to do. I was glad that we both caught fish and glad to get back into that warm car. So I don't know when we will go again but next time I hope the weather man gives us a break.

here are a few snaps from sunday
